Could have been a better book The story is good enough but some irritating writing interfered with the enjoyment An obsession with irrelevant detail does not make for atmosphere and it is certainly not Dickensian as it aspires to be William Mc Gonnegal likeWhat irritated me most me most were anachronistic expressions such as what bit of don t you understand Having done some extensive research I googled it it seems that the first sightings of this format were in the US in the 1980s For a book that claims to present an accurate portrait of London in the 1930s and is uite OCD about some details this is unacceptable I may be wrong however where is Eric Partridge when you need him As I said the story was good and I will most likely read the third part of the trilogy I hope I am not being too pedantic Electing Judges understand Having done some extensive research I googled it it seems that the first sightings of this format were in the US in the 1980s For a book that claims to present an accurate portrait of London in the 1930s and is Encounters with Rauschenberg A Lavishly Illustrated Lecture uite OCD about some details this is Doctors Ambassadors Secretaries Humanism and Professions in Renaissance Italy unacceptable I may be wrong however where is Eric Partridge when you need him As I said the story was good and I will most likely read the third part of the trilogy I hope I am not being too pedantic
